As a comparison, how much are those eggs and fruit? I figure you're paying by the kilo? or by number?

Interesting to see so much international feel in market - nice of you to capture those photos of people. Did you just take the pictures at chest level? That's one thing I sometime don't have guts to do - taking people's pictures without them knowing it, or taking them with them knowing it !

Jan, those were 10 eggs at 1.55 Euro. The pictures were taken while holding my camera at waist level while casually strolling along. Noone ever knew that I was taking their picture. Later, I post processed the images to get the cropping right. It was fun to do.

Erik, did you choose morose people on purpose? I know that the Danes are happier than the Dutch. Going to the market is a fun endeavour, especially the idea that you get something for cheap is appealing to my countrymen, but then you did not show many "autochtone" Dutch people (you should know by now what autochtone means, lily white and preferably reformed protestant). Did you notice the difference between this market and the markets in Belgium, France or Italy. A Belgian friend of mine once said: In the Netherlands one goes to the market to buy cheap junk, in Belgium you go to the market to buy the best the farmer has to offer.
