Here's a pic of my painting buddy. We meet about once a week to paint. It's great having friends to go out painting with, it tends to reduce the interference from the public. Lots of people like to paint here in Holland, and everyone seems to feel qualified as an art teacher so every day I get people telling me what's wrong with the painting. A couple of days ago an old man was telling me how to paint - he was off base, but I always listen politely because sometimes people are right and it is interesting to hear what they say - and this charming man put his finger right in the painting, getting oil paint on his fingers and messing up the painting...no worries, I fixed it.
I'm going outside to paint so often that I am getting tan (a real exception in Holland) and getting a chance to practice Dutch. Leuk!
