Monteriggione, approaching storm

This bigger painting was made in the studio. It is oil on linen, 70 x 100 cm
(2.3 x 3.3 feet). Models were oil paintings made on site, plus a photo taken of this mad storm just before it arrived. The town of Monteriggione was already getting hit, my vantage point was way out in the fields where the sun was still shining. But man did it rain hard, plus hail.

Today was another 12 hour painting day, plus a couple of hours of web updating. I'm looking forward to vacation.

You're LOOKING FORWARD to vacation???? Where exactly does one vacation when their work involves hanging out in Tuscany all day and painting? You're a lucky guy.

Nice job on the Approaching Storm painting, by the way.

Lovely work.

Thanks for the kind words about my drawings. I'm kind of jealous of anyone who gets to hang out where you do and paint!

All the best,
Michael Arthur

Jeff, for symmetry's sake, I think I may have to fly to Iowa and work in a factory for my vacations. But...that's too far to fly. Hmm, the French Riviera is on the way on my drive home...

Michael, thanks for getting back to me. I admire your courage in drawing live in front of audiences, and for taking the career plunge into art. Hopefully our paths will cross in NYC at some point.
