Shiva, cat slut

My dad the cat whisperer is visiting, pictured here. He is one of only 6 people who have significantly pet our cat Shiva.

Notice the wool hat?

On a call home to my mother, my dad said that "I brought 3 pairs of long underwear, and I STILL had to go out and buy a wool hat. Damn it's cold here! It's a wet cold that goes right through you. It might be 40 or 50 degrees, but it feels like how 15 would feel back home."

Family pictures Oshkosh

So, for a belated birthday present I received a blond Rasta wig. You can see my niece's reaction for yourself. Me, I thought I looked handsome with hair. Oh well.

A bike ride near Oshkosh, Wisconsin

Most of these pictures were taken during a bike ride about an hour's drive west of Oshkosh. This part of Wisconsin can be stunningly beautiful. The first picture is of a roadside tribute to July Fourth. The third picture is of an ethanol plant. Ethanol costs 3.50 a gallon, as compared to 4.50 a gallon for gasoline. Corn and wheat are a big part of the economy here.

Oshkosh Sawdust Days (like a County Fair)

"Sawdust Days" in Oshkosh, Wisconsin is essentially a small county fair in semi-rural Wisconsin. These pics were taken at twilight. I like the pictures of food booths for the Hopper like feeling of the people inside the lighted spaces.
